I wrote the following on April 25th, but I felt led to post it on my blog this morning. I promise I will soon post some pictures of the kids. I know...I have been a slacker! :)
I have to start out by saying that I have dwelled way too long in a pit over my past, but in the past several years God has spoken to me through several of Beth Moore's Bible Studies and books and enabled me to slowly crawl out of my pit. On April 13th, Satan launched an attack to send me back into another pit of despair over my past. It worked for a few days, but today God revealed His message to me.
On April 14th, I went on a tour to Muir Woods outside of San Francisco, California. I was still reeling from the attack, but I prayed that morning that God would reveal His splendor and glory through His creation to me. As I rode on the tour bus to Muir Woods, I was moved by the beauty of God's creation. I did receive a blessing, but I missed His message that day. As I was walking through Muir Woods, I stopped in front of a tree and marveled at how the sun was shining through the thick canopy and the light was revealed onto this ONE tree. I was so taken with it, that I snapped two pictures. Even so, I didn’t see what is so clear now. God was revealing Himself to me and I missed it! It was there before my eyes, but because I was so consumed with my circumstances, I couldn’t see it.

When I returned home and reviewed my pictures, I saw the cross so plainly. I was blown away by the fact that God was revealing Himself to me in such a personal way. Even after this discovery, I was still struggling over this most recent attack. I was feeling weak and defeated all over again.
On April 24th, I attended the “So Long Insecurity” Simulcast at FBC Woodstock. As usual, Beth had a Word from the Lord for me. It amazes me how intricate His plans are. I heard that I need to remember what I was taught: I am secure in Jesus Christ! No one can take that from me. I am clothed with strength and dignity! I am a loved child of God. “Death to the old us…life to the new…what will we do with what God has taught us?” As Travis Cottrell and his team sang, “In Christ Alone (with The Solid Rock)”, I felt the Holy Spirit speaking to me so clearly and gently reminding me of what I have received. I have received the greatest gift of all. The power of Christ lives within me. No one or nothing can take that away from me!
During my quiet time on April 25th, I looked at my photo that I had taken at Muir Woods once again and God revealed the following: He reminded me that the cross paid the price for my sin and I am forgiven! I should no longer grieve over my past. God loves me and He IS all that I need.
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of our minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24)
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Corinthians 4:6-7)
No guilt in life no fear in death. This is the power of Christ in me. From life’s first cry to final breath – Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand. Till He returns or calls me home - Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand! (In Christ Alone (with The Solid Rock))
Putting on my new self and standing secure in the power of Christ!
