Logan's Kindergarten Field Trip

Logan's kindergarten class went to Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, Alabama for their field trip. It was a much shorter drive than Huntsville for Lindsey's field trip the week before. I have been to Noccalula Falls many times, but I never took the time to appreciate how beautiful it really is.

I had to chaperon Logan and one other little boy. Nathan was pretty good, but he wanted to run off several times. He also had a bandage that covered half of his neck and he worried himself to death over that bandage most of the day. When I finally convinced him to take off the bandage, you would have thought I asked him to hand over his most favorite blankie. He reluctantly handed it over and enjoyed the rest of the day.

Logan saw Courtney's picture on Facebook where Cameron did this, so of course Logan had to do the same. :)

After we dropped off Nathan, I signed Logan out and Logan and I went down the nature trail to get a closer look at the falls. Logan said this was his most favorite part of the field trip. Quality time with mom! I enjoyed it too!

Logan actually posed for several pictures. I was totally surprised. Most of the time he is running from me if I am holding a camera.

Then he had to take some pictures of me. I hate to have my picture taken, but I thought I would post this one, since he did such a great job!

Of course, we had to stop by the gift shop and pick up a small souvenir. I think this sword is one of twenty that we now have at the house. :)

Fishing Trip

Greg had promised Logan that he would take him fishing one day, so when that day finally arrived, Logan was thrilled! Before Neil and Logan left, Logan said, "I hope I catch a catfish." Well, he did! This was the first fish caught of the day. Of course, Logan wouldn't touch it!

Neil finally convinced Logan to hold a fish. You can tell by the look on his face that he isn't so sure about it.

By the end of the day, he was an old pro!

Lindsey's 3rd Grade Field Trip

The third graders from Kitty Stone Elementary went to the Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama for their field trip. It was a ten hour field trip and I was completely worn out, but it was lots of fun!

Easter Bonnet Parade

Each year, the Kindergarten classes at Kitty Stone Elementary make Easter bonnets and then they parade around the school campus. Parents are invited to come and take pictures and the older children are allowed to come out of the classroom to watch the parade. It is very cute!

So, here is Logan's Easter bonnet. When I took him shopping for his supplies, he was very adamant that I did not purchase any "girlie" supplies for his bonnet. It had to be a "manly" bonnet - if there is such a thing. Ha-ha! Hence, the camouflage print eggs and ribbon.

Easter 2009

With this post, I have officially completed my first year of blogging. Some friends twisted my arm to start this blog and I never thought I would make it this far, but I have somehow managed to stick with it! I'm not the creative writer in the family, so I appreciate those of you who have stuck with me this past year!

This year for Easter, I actually purchased new outfits for the kids. Last year, we were in our Dave Ramsey Financial Peace class and we were on a very, very tight budget. This year, the budget is still tight, but I couldn't go two years in a row without new Easter outfits. Don't tell Dave! My dress on the other hand, is eight years old. Maybe that makes up for the money I spent on the kids! Ha-ha!

Logan was too funny when we were shopping for Easter clothes. At first I asked if he wanted a new shirt and he said no. Then he spotted this outfit and just had to have it. He was so excited about this outfit, that we just had to buy it for him. I was trying to save some money by just buying a new shirt, but we ended up with a whole new outfit! He was so excited to wear it that he wanted to wear it two Sundays in row.

Over the Easter weekend, we did manage to dye three dozen eggs, collect a nice stash of candy, served/attended three services at EaglePoint, participated in a few egg hunts and survived the crazy Alabama springtime weather.

Good Friday brought several opportunities for me to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus Christ, My Savior, made for me. I am so thankful for salvation I have received, but definitely did not deserve! I am thankful that on the third day, the grave was empty and that Jesus sits at the right hand of God! He is alive!

Karate - My Two Yellow Belts!

Logan and Lauren finally got the results from their testing and they were both awarded a yellow belt and certificates last night. Lauren did get her black stripe because she is older and had to learn one more kata than Logan did. Logan was not happy to find out that Lauren would be passing him. They were both tickled to get their new belts, however.

T-ball 2009

We kicked off the 2009 T-ball season last night. It was a little windy and a little wet, but that didn't keep Logan from having a blast! He played first base last night and got several of the runners out. Of course, we really don't have "outs" in T-ball. :)
