Snow in Alabama!

I have decided to break my silence and finally try a blog entry.  I have found that I struggle to make time for the blog.  Maybe I will do better in 2011.  Not sure, but I'm not making a resolution to do so either. :)

Anyway, we have had some rare snow lately in Alabama.  It snowed Christmas Day, which is something I don't ever remember.  I'm sure it has snowed on Christmas Day in Alabama before - I just don't remember it.

Sunday night, the snow started and we ended up with several inches of snow - enough that the kids actually got to break out the sled that was given to Neil from some Canadian friends in 1984.  Now, this is the first snow in our area that Neil has been able to use this sled.  Poor neglected sled.  It was put to good use on January 10, 2011.  It has waited 27 or so years to provide some riding enjoyment.  So, enjoy the pictures!

They tried a little sledding down the street, but they had a boogie board, a roasting pan, and anything else they could find that would work.  :)

After wearing out the sled, they figured out these pool floats were quite the ride.
Lauren decided she would rest a while.
