Awana Awards 2009

On May 17th, 2009, we had our annual awards ceremony for our Awana Club at our church. Lindsey completed her first year of T&T. She completed her first T&T book, completed all the extra credit sections and did a total book review at the end. She recited 32 Bible verses in one sitting for the total book review. She is one amazing kid! I forget how many verses she recited from memory this year, but it was a lot. As you can see, she earned several awards. Way to go, Lindsey!
Logan completed his first year of Sparks. He completed his book and then did the complete review. He earned his first book award and his review patch to go under his cool wings that holds all those cool jewels that he earned for completing his book! Way to go, Logan!

I am so proud of both Lindsey and Logan. The awards are nice, but I know the biggest reward is that they are hiding God's Word in their hearts. What could be better than that?

The Toothless Wonder!

Back in December when one of Logan's teeth started to wiggle, he was so excited about losing a tooth. He wiggled and wiggled that tooth. We tried many times to pull that tooth and it finally came out on December 28th. Then Neil took Logan to the dentist for a cleaning and the dentist was worried that he lost one of his upper central incisors first. So then we began to worry. On March 28th, he lost one of the lower central incisors. On April 23rd, he lost the other upper central incisor. Still no permanent teeth in sight. When one of the upper lateral incisors literally fell out on April 27th, I was really getting concerned.

But alas, I finally see a permanent tooth coming in on the top where he lost that first tooth. It is the reason that the upper lateral incisor "fell" out. So, I am a little relieved. I can see another permanent tooth coming in on the bottom too. His other lower central incisor is loose and he wanted me to pull it the other night, but I did not because he is already having problems biting into his food. He already has four missing teeth in the front. I didn't want to make it five! I hope those permanent teeth come on in, so the boy can eat!

The good news, Logan is stashing up on some golden dollar coins. Lindsey commented the other day that the Tooth Fairy sure is cheap. You have to love that child! :)

T-ball Pictures

I was thinking that I should have wiped his cleats off prior to the pictures, but then I thought only a mom would think that! Ha-ha!

I'm not sure whose idea it was for 4,5 and 6 year-old kids to have WHITE hats, but I have to say it wasn't the best idea. I have had to hand wash that hat after every game. Neil had his hat, but he loaned it to one of the little boys for the picture and the game. Guess what? I had to wash that one too. Next time, I'm picking the hats and they will not be white! Ha-ha!

Of course, I had to put one more of Logan hitting the ball!
